The Contents page has been formatted using MS Word Auto contents feature

The figure reference list is formatted in the Harvard style and the alignment is neat
There is a reference list included with all the research sources

AS 1

Very clear vision statement - where the business wants to be in the future
Extended vision statement is a more detailed view of where the business wants to be over the next few years

AS 2

Mission statement is your WHY. Why the business exists
Give some background into the company

This is where you discuss the background to the 2 Directors and you point the reader to the appendices, which should contain both of your CVs. Outline your previous experience, qualitfication, a little about you and your knowledge and expertise and your role in this business
It is a good idea to show where your business sits within the pyramid and also within a brand positioning matrix - this will also show who your direct competitors are

AS 3

Tell the reader the story behind your business name and why you have chosen it
Present the business logo and tell the reader about it - why you chose the font, colours etc. and what research you have done to test it with the consumers

AS 4

All figures have been referenced correctly using the Harvard style
It is always a good idea to present the brand colour palette as part of the brand identity - why have you chosen these colours, do they have any specific meaning?
Discuss the intellectual property of the brand (lecture and seminar with Fiona to follow)

It is a good idea to include an idea of what your product will look like using CAD or a sketch or a moodboard or images from Pinterest, WGSN or similar source. You do not have to be a designer but you do need to convey to the reader what your product will look like. If this is a service based business, make sure to clearly show the journey of the customer and what you will offer them

AS 5

AS 6

Whether your business idea is a product or whether it is service, it MUST have a clear USP. When you are describing your USP think about what would make an investor spend money investing in your business. What is unique What would make your product or service sell? What makes you stand out from your competitors?

State what your route to market is. How will you get your offering to your customer? This could be direct to consumer (D2C) via your website It could be wholesaling through a third party It could be mail-order Or social commerce through Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok Or pop up stores, or physical retail stores. Or a combination of these.
This student has done a very good job of researching market information and citing these within the business plan using in-text citations which are correctly formed in the Harvard style

Provide a thorough SWOT analysis of your business and your product or service using researched evidence. Make sure your threats section contains macro economic forces and that there is a correlation between your weaknesses, and your opportunities.

Figures and tables need to be referenced correctly in the Harvard style. Follow this example

Provide a clear pricing strategy and pricing architecture, backed up by primary research

AS 7

AS

The feasibility analysis is where your report your primary research findings to show that your idea is feasible and that there are customers who are willing to buy your product or service
Discuss barriers to entry - what are they and evaluate how difficult these barriers might be

AS 9

This is where you bring in your secondary market research using Statista, Mintel, ONS, Experian, FAME, WARC, WGSN and any other suitable industry sources

Include a full customer profile including demographics, psychographics, expectations and an image of your customer(s)

Following on from the business introduction section at the beginning of the business plan, this is where you discuss your competitors, their offering, pricing and evaluate how much of a threat they are to you

Discuss how you will promote your business using different social media channels. It is important to state how you will use each channel differently and NAME the influencers you will work with (if any). This section needs to be visual, include imagery of any activities you will do and show what the influencers you will work with look like.

Show how you will launch your business - what channels and methods will you use and when will you launch it. Even better to provide a cost against this

If your business is product based, you need to discuss where this will be manufactured and why you have chosen this route. Include researched evidence about the benefits of sourcing within this country.
Include information about the fabric or material you have chosen, why you have chosen it, the features and benefits and include imagery and research about the fabric or material

Don’t forget about the packaging! Include research about the sustainable credentials

Always start with the start up costs of the business - this is to show how much money you will need to get the business up and running and where the money will be spent. Make sure the use the template provided

The student has included a line graph showing the sales pattern which is excellent and very clear

Use the cash flow template and include a screenshot here but put the full version in a larger scale within the appendices
Clearly state how your business will be funded, how much funding you will need and why you have chosen this route for funding

What promotions, discounts and marketing down strategies will you employ, when and why? Consider the retail calendar which is relevant to your market (Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, EID, Chinese new year etc)
Conclude the business plan with the key points. It is also a good idea to re-iterate how much funding you are looking to secure

References to be formatted alphabetically in the Harvard style (use cite them right)

Include screen shots of your primary research using social media and questionnaires

AS

What you did well

You have made excellent use of CAD to create a logo and garments that align with the aims of your business.  The service strategy is a great addition to your plan, supporting your ideas in becoming a viable business.  You have identified which materials you will use in detail, this is clear and demonstrates you have knowledge in this area.  Costings are simple and clearly formatted in easy to read graphs.  Customer profile is also easy to read with key points, making it clear as to whom you are targeting your business. Informative comparative shop.

Even better if

You could potentially move the detailed fabric research into the appendices.  But otherwise, an excellent business plan, congratulations.
