For Example, Choose one of the following topics, and write a clear, convincing, and detailed memo. Your memo should contain a minimum of three relevant primary examples. Each primary example should be explained and detailed using secondary examples, which will help give your ideas depth and clarity. Remember, your memo’s length does NOT matter to me, but the detail and depth of your ideas and examples are VERY IMPORTANT - so choose your words and examples wisely!

No one likes the same old, tired ideas; therefore, be creative! You MUST use unique and fresh ideas/examples.

FORMAT CHANGE ALERT!!! Based on previous writings, it seems writers are over-using BULLET POINTS. This has led to a lack of development. For this reason, I am asking for a change in writing style for this assignment. You can use headings to introduce each section; however, in the sections that follow each heading, please use fully developed paragraphs to discuss your ideas. DO NOT use bullets points. Using paragraphs should help you write more complete, detailed, and developed ideas. (This is my hope.)

As always, you can write as much or as little as you desire. Just be certain your ideas are fully explained! Note: continue to use business format: single spaced, double space between sections, headings, bold, effective white space. Do not indent any of the paragraphs, as business format uses block paragraphs. There are sample papers on BB for your reference.

1. Low morale in the workplace has always been a constant concern for employers and employees alike. During tough economic times, the threat of low morale is even greater. Low morale can have many negative effects on the workplace. It can hurt production, cause conflict, and increase employee turnover are just a few obvious effects. This is happening in many offices and factories throughout the business world.


 Low morale seems to have crept into your workplace. As the manager, you have noticed the decrease in morale and have started to see the impact it is having on even your best employees. The company’s owner has asked you to come up with several quality examples/ideas designed to help raise employees’ morale.

Write a memo to the owner (Ima Boss) that explains how each of your ideas will help improve the overall work experience. Be as clear and specific as possible when discussing the ideas you are proposing, and explain how each idea will help increase the morale at work. You can use any work environment (factory, office, restaurant, etc.) when creating your solutions.

2. According to recent data, American workers are some of the unhealthiest people in the world. Poor eating habits, lack of exercise, smoking and drinking, and stress have caused the American worker to become sicker and sicker. This unhealthy lifestyle has impacted businesses as well. Unhealthy employees often miss work, cannot complete physical job tasks, and lack the energy to complete simple, daily duties - costing business millions in potential profit.


 In response to this health crisis, many businesses have taken a pro-active approach. They are trying to come up with examples/ideas to help make the American worker healthier by implementing new programs at work, which are designed to help improve workers’ overall health.

You are a health/wellness expert, specializing in helping businesses create a healthier workforce. You have been hired by a large tech company that wants its workers to improve their health. They have given you a generous budget to work with and expect several exciting options.

What ideas/examples can you come up with to help improve the overall health of these employees? What programs would you create, and how would these programs of yours help improve the health of these workers.

Your assignment is to write a MEMO to the EMPLOYEES at EHC Products. Explain the programs you have come up with and the benefits these will have on their health.

Remember: use original, unique, interesting, (fun?) examples and ideas no matter which question you choose to answer. AVOID obvious, old, tired, worn out cliche ideas!
