The international, multidisciplinary Journal of Disabilities is published bimonthly. It

accepts article submissions that includes research studies, both qualitative and quantitative.

Additionally, JLD publishes literature reviews, theoretical papers, non-empirical position papers,

and policy papers. The homepage for the Journal of Learning Disabilities can be found at

http://journals.sagepub.com/home/ldx

Submission Guidelines

Articles must include information pertaining to learning disabilities. Research study

articles must be data-based and must contain original research. Authors should include whether

their study is part of a larger one or if it is a duplication. Detailed descriptions of the participants

with learning disabilities should be included as well as suggestions for future studies. Research

studies must be 25-30 pages, typed, and double-spaced. All literature reviews and other papers

must include content that is significant to the field and must be 25-30 pages, typed, and double-

spaced. Authors should follow the writing guidelines of the American Psychological

Association.

Relevance

The focus of this journal is relevant because it only accepts and publishes articles that

pertain to learning disabilities. My research will focus on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity

Disorder (ADHD) and Dyslexia, two common learning disabilities. I will be focusing on the

effects that chemicals in schools might have on students with ADHD and Dyslexia. This includes

industrial cleaners, air fresheners, disinfectants, candles, and perfumes.
