Q1. The importance of evaluating spirituality in nursing practice is to provide a safe and supportive environment and nurture the spiritual well-being of nurses and patients. When a patient has a spiritual need, nurses must be responsive, adaptable, and flexible when providing care, including religious services or counseling (Hawthorne & Gordon, 2020). This would increase the patient's sense of well-being and make them more empathetic towards their fellow human beings and their suffering. The nurse should recognize and identify the various types of spirituality in a patient's life, along with the religious affiliations and practices that may lead to coexistence with health issues. The nurse should also know the important role that spirituality plays in the life of individual patients, their families, communities, and society as a whole.

It also allows nurses to maintain professionalism while respecting the individuality of patients.
