Teleological Argument

The teleological argument best describes my belief in the existence of God. One cannot help but marvel at the perfection in which the world appears. It would then be logical to argue that there ought to be someone or a being that is solely behind the appears of the earth. Nothing happens out of chance hence there is always a purpose as to why certain things happen or someone behind certain occurrences. Everything in the world perfectly fits and serves a purpose as to its presence. With everything in perfection, there must have been an intelligent designer who may have caused the happenings and occurrences in the environment.

Comparing to the analogy of the watch and the intelligent designer, everything placed in the world gives an impression of a sense of artistry and intention just like every piece and part of a watch has been placed. One hence cannot help but marvel at the creations begging the question of who might be responsible. Everything points to the presence of a supreme being who only is capable of carefully designing and placing each element in the world in its purposefully rightful position.

The Problem of Evil

For many, experiencing suffering is mainly seen as occurrences of evil which may be quite understandable and an easy point that appeals to one’s logic. However, pain and suffering ought to be seen as a form of test. Without challenges coming our way, one is least likely to know how much ability and strength they possess. People often view suffering as a form of punishment which in some cases is not always as consequences for deeds people do. People ought to view suffering and pain as a form of challenge course that seeks to put to test their inner strength to maneuver through stumbling blocks that may at times come in their way.

Some of the evil that happens is at times as a result of deeds humans take part in. Actions hence have consequences. Therefore, despite God being omnipresent and all-knowing, suffering is at times aimed at giving a form of lesson. Without suffering and pain, humans would then live a rather reckless life. With the help of pain being inflicted on a person, one would then take note of the consequences that then follow their actions. Humans power great power within then hence worth noting that with power comes great responsibility.

Other beliefs that are affected by my assent to the existence of God

Believing in the existence of God has mainly had me view life and all other aspects of the world we live in a different light. One now appreciates that a being greater than the whole of the human race took his time to strategically place the different things in the world in their positions for a greater purpose. With the design in which we view the world, there ought to be an even greater being behind that is responsible and his will was the guide to how things were placed that is not necessarily under within the metric of human understanding.

In many cases, the happenings in the world have often been attributed to be a form of punishment. There is only a deeper reason as to why certain occurrences happen to certain people that are beyond the human spectrum of understanding. Everything is ordained and is set to take place in due course according to the plan and will of a supreme being. Matters on success and recurrence of given happenings may at times seem biased but everyone has their own ordained time when everything will then run in due course according to the will of a supreme being.

The biggest issue here is the absence of any discussion beyond the argument from design. Do you, for example, disagree with fideism or the cosmological argument? Do you like anything about the ontological argument?

The other main issue is structure. It minimally handles the requirements of the exam, like a checklist. Thus, it does not read like an essay. 63%
