Physician

In health care, there are different professions depending on what one has actually specialized in. Specialist are expected to perform what they have actually specialized in only and let the other parts be handled by those who are competent in them. Therefore, among those professions found in a health care setting, there are physicians. A physician can be described as specialist who has specialized in the art of healing people. Actually, this term physician does not refer to any specific profession but any person who has the capacity to heal sick people can be said to be a physician. In other words, a physician can be said to be a highly trained specialist who provides a range of non-surgical health care to adult patients. Physicians actually do care for difficult, serious or unusual medical problems and continue to see the patient until the problems have been resolved or stabilized. It is known that much of their work do take place with hospitalized patients and most generally physicians also se patients in their consulting rooms. Their broad range of expertise differentiates general physicians from other specialists who limit their medical practice to problems involving only one body system or to a special area of medical knowledge.

Evolvement of traditional roles of physicians within health care

In the health care, there has been so many changes that have been taking place, from time to time. The changes have a gone across from the equipment to even the staff. There has been some frequent changes in the roles of physicians in the health care setting and this has brought some positive results. Actually, in this industry, what was being done by our physicians some years back is not the same thing that is happening today. There has been some drastic evolution in roles of physicians on our health care settings (Colla, 2014). Now the roles of physicians have evolved to not only including the technology that is literally in the hand of patients but also focusing on the patient centered care and engaging the patient in their journey to good health.

One of the evolution of the physicians in the health care setting is their current lifestyle. Actually before, the physicians used to wear tie and they were always in suits each and every day they were in the office. Once they entered the environs of the health care, nurses could always stand to honor them. It was must for physicians to be addressed by the name Dr. Today that has really changed as they are called by their sir names. When it comes to dressing, having a tie is voluntarily (Shelton, 2015). No one bothers how one has dressed provided he is able to deliver services to the patients the right way possible.

Before, physicians were not undergoing training together so as to work together as a group. You could find that each one physician attended a training individually and then they meet at a health care to deliver services. With today, things have really revolutionized and you find that, the concept of team work is very highly embraced and has become more prevalent. Physicians today undergo trainings together so that once they go back to the health care facilities, they can practice what they have learnt together too (Eyal, 2016). The team actually does involve many roles that were never there or never existed twenty years ago. Overall, I believe this inclusion of each member is very crucial for anyone who is involved in health care. When physicians work as a team, they actually do realized varying perspectives and they are readily reminded to be more human and kind too in their service delivery.

Before, physicians were taken to be God like creatures and it was not easy to question them anyhow. It took a procedure for one to question a physician. Things today have really changed. Now physicians are and should actually behave like leaders of a team that care for patients and not just medically but also when it comes to social and psychological life (Dovlo, 2017). Actually, physicians do take a broader view of the impact disease and treatment and that can be there on their individual and their family.

In addition, technology is playing a larger role every day on our health care facilities and also in the patient. Technology has been embraced by the physicians with both hands. Actually, today, technology has advanced a level higher, and physicians are encouraging it. It has reached a point whereby, technology has to be incorporated in the health care for efficient deliverance of services. Therefore, it is evident that, physicians are evolving even in their service delivery since they are using high tech equipment to help patients.
