CLASS 1

1. Assess a business's actions or conduct on the basis of teleological and deontological ethical theories.

2. Perform a utilitarian analysis by determining the costs and benefits for stakeholders. 

3. Determine the ethical nature of a course of action on the basis of Kant's categorical imperative, rights, and justice.

4. Explain the difference between teleological and deontological theories of ethics.

5. Apply a principles-based approach to ethics based on utilitarianism, rights, justice, caring, virtue, servant leadership, and the Golden Rule.

6. Apply a Venn model for ethical decision making that considers a business's economic, legal and ethical responsibilities.

CLASS 2

1. Assess the sustainability of a business in terms of various definitions of sustainability, especially the Brundtland Commission definition and the triple bottom line of people, profit and planet.

2.  Explain how a business may apply shared value and conscious capitalism.

3.  Describe the impacts of business on the natural environment.

4.  Explain the importance of considering sustainability in the long-term success of a business.

5.  Identify and discuss the issues that arise for businesses in their responsibility for the environment and sustainability.

4. Explain the phenomenon of the tragedy of the commons. Discuss how that tragedy may be addressed or avoided by business and society.

5.  Discuss how environment ethics may be applied in terms of the Kantian theory of ethics, utilitarianism and stakeholder theory.

CLASS 3

1.  Explain how corporate social responsibility (CSR) encompasses economic, legal, ethical and philanthropic responsibilities.  

2.  Assess a company's CSR performance based on the pyramid of CSR and the triple bottom line of sustainability.

3.   Articulate the traditional arguments for and against CSR, especially in respect of the classical economic model of business. 

4.  Determine how the different CSR responsibilities of a business relate to different stakeholders of the business. 

5.  Explain the different types of CSR exemplar firms and what constitutes CSR greenwashing.

6.  Explain the concept of "creating shared value".
