Ethical Vignette: Professional Boundaries Assignment Instructions

Overview

Ethical vignettes discuss relevant topics to the counseling field, seeking to apply ethical decision-making strategies to real world issues by presenting a case study that challenges ethical principles. This assignment is based on a video that presents an ethical vignette focused on Professional Boundaries. After watching the video, you will then complete a response paper that details the decision process you would consider based on your understanding of applicable ethics codes.

Instructions

· Watch the video titled “Understanding Professional Boundaries and Ethics: A Practical Model”.

· Write a 2–4-page response paper.

· Summarize the major points of the ethical issue presented in the video.

· Summarize and apply your state board’s rules and regulations related to the topic.

· Clearly identify the applicable ACA/ASCA codes.

· Respond by reflecting on a personal exploration of the ethical themes of the vignette and summarizing your reaction.

· Describe what you learned from this ethical vignette case and discuss a strategy for applying appropriate ethical decision making in a similar situation to your future practice as a school counselor.

· The paper must include at least 2 references from scholarly sources less than 5 years old.

· The paper must also include the web address for your state’s ethics code within the references.

· The paper must include at least two citations.

· The paper must be in current APA format.
