Identify three ethical issues that might arise in the conduct of the research present in the cases. For each, explain why it is an ethical issue and how it may pose a challenge in conducting the research.
The journal that is dealing with the use of internet in a qualitative research, there are several points that have come up with the use of internet as a source for conducting a research. The use of such sites I have considered using them. There are several ethical issues that are involved in their usage. First, when the researcher was collecting data about the breast cancer survivor group. Most of the times, people turn to these groups where they lets out their emotion and they start talking to people who have the same experiences as them and some other times their experiences is always more worse. Lurking and trolling should not be the case as that is breaching of someone’s secrets, or even if its secrets from the groups. The researcher should always that the efforts of research are not intruded by the third party and it should not cause harm to the subjects, (Hoque & Rana, 2018).
The last third ethical issue is about being able to make use of the electronic resources especially if the research is questionnaire based, e mails or by the use of visual conference calls. The potential subjects should be knowledgeable on the basis of using the specified model. The using of the electronic method in research is that there is no face to face interaction as through this the people will be in a position to talk about things frankly because when they were together there maybe feeling of being embarassed and in most cases they may not be able to discuss in that state. Througgh electronic medium there maybe consent because their responses mabe inform of attachment in the emails and in most cases this may tend to be very private, (Enochsson, & Hultman, 2019
Select one of the issues you identified and describe how you would address this issue to comply with both legal and professional standards of practice.
The issue that I will focus on is the issue of privacy, many people are of different opinion that when something is put into the cyber space, the issue may no longer be private since everyone can have an access to it. With such mindset, it is important that a very devoted community to the area should be established. This is for the purpose of of research to show them that the information that will be given will be of the highest confidential. It is also important that there is an established ways on how to make the participants to be aware of the purpose of how to establish a perceived privacy and confidentiality, (Cullen, & Walsh, 2020).
