- Do you believe an earthquake in the Pacific NW is possible in our lifetime? What about the big one, 9.0 or higher? [This is opinion, but all opinions in life must be supported by facts]
-- The New Yorker article (linked below) and 1st video state that the odds of a Cascadia earthquake happening in the next fifty years are roughly one in three and the odds of the very big one are roughly one in ten.
- The videos and the articles point out how unprepared the Pacific Northwest is. Should the government be required to install/implement warning systems, retrofit or build safer buildings, etc.?
