Topic Sentence: Rip Van Winkle and Anton Rosicky had a different type of motivation during their journeys.
Detail 1: Rosicky’s family is what motivated him, he was always looking to please his wife and kids
Detail 2: Winkle is unmotivated and has no life goals. He lazy was never wanted to anything around the house, he always wanted to do for other women around the town.
Detail 3: Concluding Sentence: Undoubtfully, Winkle is described as lazy man in the story when it comes to taking care of family, while Rosicky over works himself to make sure that his family is taken care of.

Topic Sentence: The different aspects of Rip Van Winkle and Anton Rosicky relationship with others (specifically with their wives)
Detail 1: Rip Van Winkle and his wife Dame Van Winkle had a domestic marriage; Rip Van Winkle could not stand to be around his wife.
Detail 2: Rosicky and his wife had a wonderful family and a happy marriage. Rosicky adored his wife and appreciated everything she had done for him.
Detail 3: Winkle always found a way to get away from his wife.
Concluding Sentence: Both men loved their wives, however Winkle didn’t want to have to deal with the nagging coming from his wife.

Topic Sentence: The difference of Rip Van Winkle and Anton Rosicky’s conflicts/trials.
Detail 1: Anton Rosicky was diagnosed with a heart condition which made it difficult for Rosicky to do anything without being out of breath.
Detail 2: Rip Van Winkle went out on his journey into the woods and fell asleep and he wakes up lost and confused as to what happened to his dog and gun.
Detail 3: Rosicky died from his condition, Rip disappeared.
Concluding Sentence: Both trials were different, but Rip was able to stay alive and tell what he remembered, while Rosicky wasn’t so fortunate due to his medical condition.

Both Rip Van Winkle and Anton Rosicky had a lot in common when it came to aspects of motivation, relationships with others, and Conflicts/trials. Rosicky’s daughter in law looked up to him for his guidance and he was loved by her. Rip was loved by the housewives that he did jobs for, and the children of the village. Even though the struggles that the character faced were different, there were a lot of similarities in their lives. |
