Thesis: Many just see basketball players as overpaid athletes, but many famous basketball athletes are role models for younger generations.

I. Basketball is a way to show dedication and hard work, as it is a very difficult sport to master. It teaches discipline and that with hard work you can achieve anything.

A. Players like Kobe Bryant have taught me that with hard work and ambition, you can achieve anything.

1. Kobe Bryant, “I don’t relate to lazy people. We don’t speak the same language. I don’t understand you.”

B. Other players like Lebron James have shown this through their own lifestyles.

1. Lebron grew up with no father, in a crime filled neighborhood and continued his dream of making the NBA. Now he is the best NBA player and continues to be a great role model.

II. NBA players always give back and help the basketball community.

A. Famous basketball athletes hold basketball training camps where young boys and girls and come and improve their basketball skills.

B. Many NBA players go and see sick kids in hospitals and spend time with them, because these kids look up to them and use them for inspiration.
