· Although punishing children ruthlessly can be barbaric and disastrous, I argue that non-violent punishment should be used in appropriate situations, because of the risk of psychological trauma the child undergoes due to violence, maintain healthy discipline, and possible alternate methods of rewards to encourage positive behaviors and prevent negative ones.
CLAIM Punishing children DATA I will use this quote, “A number of recent studies have confirmed the widespread use of potentially harmful physical and psychological punishments in homes, schools and institutions” as a place of violent punishment to children(Garb,Yaakov, Tsofit 274).
CLAIM: Psychological Trauma

Warrant:
CLAIM possible alternate methods of rewards
DATA: I will use this quote “an ‘average rating of the week’ is produced. This determines the pocket money the young people receive (less money with lower scores)” (Palomares 6)
