Subject: To avoid misinterpretation, clearly state or define exactly what it is to be discussed in your essay.

End with Thesis Statement: One clear, narrow, contestable sentence with 3 points. Remember, your thesis joins an ongoing academic conversation and will describe exactly what your essay will do.
