Facilities Maintenance (FM) seeks to help with preventing erosions and failures of buildings. By protecting property assets facilities can keep costs at a low. Preparing a budget for all properties can help with short and long-term costs of maintenance and staff. For Facilities to, be legitimized, recognized as a valued and warranted department, all structures within the City need to be in care of Facilities Maintenance Department. If FM assumes Parks buildings, Utilities and all other City structures, areas would be divided equally, have positions changed, add staff and add new positions.

Changing position titles example:

FM Manager to FM Director; Director receiving more time for the strategic and tactical part of the City Facilities. Manager encouraging, mentoring and evaluating employees more consistently.

FM Specialist to Assistant Supervisor example:

Assistant would help supervisor with maintenance, contractors and where needed when possible. Supervisor can than delegate areas to assistant and supervisor would have their own area.

FM Maintenance Worker example:

Add one maintenance worker to each division or where needed. Would give much needed help on new extra workloads and assist where needed.

FM Administrative Assistant example:

To assist and give much needed help to FM Administrative Specialist.

FM Technology Specialist Assistant example:

To assist FM Technology Specialist with extra workload and where needed.
