Social media is an upcoming trend that has slowly become a serious addiction to many
people as much as it has its positive implications to the community. For instance, for small and
medium-scale businesses it helps in the marketing strategies that connects with free & targeted
customers because of the small time and energy input that lowers the operational costs due to
marketing. The advantage is that it helps these businesses to grow in numbers because it offers
a viable communication channels because of these social media sites have their own popularity.
Additionally, these social media sites give individuals and businesses an opportunity for
2
sharing their expertise and advice to the mass through the blogs, articles that enhances the
follower’s network. Also, it gives social networking for people that helps in creating unity for
people useful in achieving the specific goals that impacts a positive change for the community.
The negative implications of these social media sites include the increase in addiction.
The spent hour on social sites diverts the individual’s attention and focus from their intended
tasks that may lower the motivational level of people for students and teenagers because of the
technology reliance and the use of internet apart from the practical expertise and knowledge in
the everyday lives. The other negative implication is that these social media sites expose
children to anti-social behavior such as sex and violence that damages the kid’s behavior
making them to engage in crime-related activities. Information overload poses as a threat
because most people share too much detailed information that comes with a challenge in
processing this information. Finally, the teenagers and students waste a lot of productive time
in these social networking sites that diverts their focus from their academic study since they fail
to complete their assignments, leading to poor academic performance.
The external consequences of social media mainly revolve around privacy and the
individual liberty. In creating and processing different processes between individual and
individual information, law enforcement is faced with the following practice: Collect individual
and group identification information from personal information received by officers. This
question is very important for the information related to the question. Intelligence This issue is
particularly relevant to data obtained because of serious discussions. Frohlich (1994), Smith
(1994), Shaver et al. (1985) Key Behavioral Issues in this Field (see Internet for details): Can
personal interview information be used for purposes other than the interview? Can a user
research strategy be applied to others? Is it appropriate to discuss a particular topic with others?
Accuracy of information This is especially true when journalists review personal information,
3
as this information has a direct impact on their lives. An example of this is the process of
medical records. Various materials are available for this purpose. The question here is whether
media professionals can use four types of personal information for other reasons. For six years
you have been providing this person with information about the use of your personal
information; Individuals have the right to receive information and personal information. This is
a practical matter and is the result of an agreement to use your personal information. A related
question is: Do users have the right to control the personal information and information of
professionals? If so, what should this person change (when an error occurs)? Do you have the
right to know who uses your public relations and personal qualities?
The personal damaging effect of social media includes the emotional and physical,
financial, educational, social, economic, and political impacts. If rejected by peers, individuals
are vulnerable to pressure, that causes serious problems e.g., fear, sadness, pain, guilt and lack
of support that leads to discomfort, lack of prejudice, eating disorders and pathological
discomfort. Racism, coercion, and humiliation confuse and ruin people. They may take drugs,
but they may criticize others, focus on others, or isolate themselves. This affects their financial
situation, and they may lose their jobs, drop out of school or fail at school. Discrimination
against the community or trade increases. Because they feel dissatisfied and lose interest in
hard work. The reason is that the confidence of the workers declines. Talented and intelligent
people are not interested in this because they do not want to be discriminated against.
Opponents of racism can join and oppose other groups, creating chaos and conflict in society.
Then wars and battles began. There are racist strict laws that apply to racism. Activists and
individuals can take legal action against criminal agents or individuals, with consequences.
In the political scope, social media leads to voter dissatisfaction that is a concern for
Western democracies. The political elite always believed that the better the electorate, the more
4
power there would be in power. It is no different in the United States; Bernard Burleson
criticized the administration for its interference in the self-election. Some people thought it was
an injustice of freedom [1]. Unfair voting means those who have the right not to vote at all
levels don’t exercise their civic duty. Throughout the modern history of the United States, the
turnout has been at least, starting in 1996, more than half. Despite the concerns by the
stakeholders in the political environment it is without doubt that social media is to blame for
this phenomenon.
But protests suggest hatred of voters could be a blessing. Because it is not always clear
who did not vote in the by-elections. Another weakness of those who do not vote for
democracy is that some people choose not to vote because they are satisfied with the current
system. This article explores the origins of racism by explaining the consequences of voters
forgetting American sovereignty. The general election of the United States shows the current
electoral process and the 20 A.C Indifference by American standards; except for two things that
separate the system. The current electoral system was established in Article 2 of the
Constitution, as amended in 1804 by the Twelfth Amendment. This process grants each state
the largest number of votes on its board of directors. Voters and all other representatives are
excluded from the vote. When it comes to democracy, these proposals are confusing to most
people. Thus, these decisions changed the electoral system of many countries and insulted the
few and the more.

The entire research process of this assignment revealed was cultivating with the
scientific and literature approach of acquiring and synthesizing important information relevant
to the task. This easy process came because of understanding how to identify the important
take-aways or points relevant to the assignment through a review approach. Additionally,
through harnessing the power of search engines such as Google scholar it made the research
process even easier by only displaying the literature/scientific articles with the relevant content
related to this assignment. The platform helped in overcoming the obstacle of information
overload where some of the articles lacked the information directly related to this assignment.
The strongest part of this essay is the topic about social media because of the vast
information provided by scholars related to this topic. Additionally, the fact that social media
has a direct impact to my life made it even enjoyable when writing about it since it broadened
my scope of the benefits/demerits of this technology. The weakest part of the essay must be the
topic on the implications of discrimination to a particular group or person. The reason behind
this was because of the lack of complementing information on this topic plus the fact that racial
discrimination remains a salient issue in the society.
Risks or threats in my approach to this assignment relates to the extent of covering the
topics. I noticed that with the vast information it meant either filtering or paraphrasing the text
6
to fit some of the points with the task at hand. The challenge is that it undermines the focus
intended with the objectives set while beginning this assignment leading to misinterpretation.
In future assignments, I intend to conduct a literature review before embarking on the
assignment. The goal is to identify the key themes brought my other scholars in relation to my
assignment before commencing on the assignment’s objectives. Despite the concern with the
time management the benefit of this approach is that it offers better quality of work as the essay
has well-researched answers.
