One teaching activity to successfully achieve this standard is playing a traditional game of Telephone where a message is passed around the classroom to see if it stays the same. Alternatively, a story is started with a beginning phrase, and each child in the classroom adds one word to the story in turn. Doing so requires the Students to be active listeners and participants when following the story so that when their time comes to add a word an aspect of speaking, the story makes sense.
