As I grew up, my parents kept warning me not to engage in social groups of whom they were unaware. Later I learned that they feared that I could get into criminal activities, a feeling shared among my friends' parents. Crime takes up a significant percentage of news in our country. Rarely do I buy a newspaper and fail to get a fully dedicated page on reported crime. If it is not of a guy who has broken into a store, it is the common storyline of a gang member who was shot or injured by a rival gang member. In high school, I became an ardent reader of crime magazines, and I have grown to admire the great works done by different members of our criminal justice system. My neighbors know that if they want the latest top series or movie about crime, they cannot miss it in my collection. Even at my age, my uncle, a police officer, passes by and gladly looks at me and asks, ……. (Insert name) am about to retire, when are you coming to take over? My answer has always been that I have to wait until I complete my studies for Bachelor in Criminal Justice.

As my uncle closes the door and returns to his police-branded car, I always look through the window, imagining how his days are. When the car disappears on the horizon, I pat the remote on my hand, and while holding my cheek I see I reflect a future full of encountering different elements of our criminal justice. I think of law enforcement officers and appreciate their excellent service to our country and justice. The most important part of my imagination is walking a prisoner who has reformed from the cells and handing them over to their family. Sometimes, I watch the news and see how a family of a wrongly incarcerated man runs towards him, and as they jump and hold each other, I feel convinced that one day I will be the officer who will have made that happen. I see myself as that investigator who solved a serial killer problem that has disturbed a community for a very long time. I am comforted by the perception that people will go to bed knowing that, even if they find their car missing, they have no reason to worry because officer ……... (insert name) will be on duty tomorrow.

I am fully committed to studying for my Bachelor in Criminal justice at …….. I admire the university's student diversity. To be an outstanding specialist in my area of study, I believe that hearing the life experiences of students of different backgrounds will shape my perception of accommodating divergent cultural behavior. I am a passionate student in criminal and legal matters, so I offer myself for selection. I hope to get skills to help me work in any section of our criminal justice system. I hope to further my studies in the units where I will have performed best. A graduate degree in Criminal justice will help me realize my dream of making my local community crime-free.
