The modern-day information and communication are going through a state of considerable flux. The first text that I will use to offer support to my thesis is the Language of internet memes by Patrick Davidson.

4. How does this text support or nuance your thesis?

The article commences by describing some of the characteristics of a generative network. It enables creative production, ease of mastery, possesses leverage and transferability. However, based on the article, what is lacking from the list of features is security (Davinson, 120). Perhaps, many of the attributes that make a system attractive or generative are the same issues that make it vulnerable. In simple terms, this zero-sum game that exists between security and creativity implies a divided internet. Therefore, it is the duty of the Companies such as Facebook, and Twitter to ensure that when setting up a social media platform, they should ensure that security is on top of the list. The article also explores communities and platforms which value security over creativity such as Google and Facebook. As such, this article will be instrumental in offering more insights on some of the security issues and concerns that exist because of the failures of this companies to protect the data of the users (Davinson, 120).

5. What Is The Second Text That You Plan To Use To Support Or Nuance Your Thesis?

The second text that I will use to support my thesis is “The Medium is the Message by McCluhan Marshall”.

6. How Does This Text Support or Nuance Your Thesis?

The article indicates that in the modern-day culture that is accustomed to diving and splitting all issues as a means of control, it is shocking to comprehend that in practical and operational fact, the medium is the message. In simple terms, the article indicates that the social and personal consequences of any medium are caused from the new scale that is embedded in their lives by new technology (McLuhan, Ch.1). In this case, the challenges that individuals encounter in terms of security, hoaxes and fake news are also the responsibility of the companies that offer a platform to individuals to perpetrate such kind of issues. Therefore, it is imperative for Facebook and Twitter to ensure that they have set up strategies that could help curb and monitor any kind of information before it is posted online. Furthermore, Twitter and Facebook companies should also ensure that data and personal information of their users is well protected to curb any dangers of information loss.
