Goal statement

The technology aim at transitioning the world to sustainable energy. Electric vehicles will transition global transport sector and the world in general from the current polluting combustion engines to eco-friendly and sustainable energy sources. The electric vehicles will benefit people by mitigating against effects of climate change and improve air quality.

Group impacted by EVs

Electric vehicles will impact every human being around the world. This technology has global effect. Choosing to drive electric vehicles instead of using gasoline powered vehicles will result in a carbon emissions reduction. Emissions and subsequent air pollution cause: cancer, early death, cardiovascular harm, and other respiratory harm. Reducing emission will improve health, business efficiency, sustainability, and equitable mobility around the world. Governments will be affected positively by the adoption of EVs .Emission reduction result to saving brought by increased efficiency of the electrical vehicles. Improved air quality impact positively on the population health along with the associated reduction of health care spending.

Regions impacted by EVs

Electric vehicles will benefit rural, urban, and industrial communities. The major benefit electric cars technology is the impact it makes towards improving air quality in cities and towns. Electric vehicles do not emit carbon dioxide when on the roads. Electric cars will make both rural and urban areas a better place for cyclists and pedestrians. According to Desai and Chen (2019), road transport account for more than half of towns air pollution. This is the reason why United States, China, and Japan are accelerating the number of electric vehicles on the roads. Moreover, EVs will make towns’ quieter thus reducing noise pollution.

Adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) will result to job losses in the oil industry thus affecting the industrial communities. However, it is also expected that adoption electric vehicle concept in private transport will create job opportunities in other industries. The new technology require new car designs and advanced battery technology, these create a demand for more specialist in manufacturing industries (Greene & Welch, 2019). Moreover, electric vehicle technology will have ripple effect to other industries tied to car manufacturing such as battery companies and research and development. People who buy electric vehicles have more disposable income to spend in other businesses such as housing and healthcare. Spending saved income in these sectors will increase job opportunities and improve economy.

Three Population

Low income earners and EVs

Low income households will benefit from the electric vehicle technology. This is possible if governments integrate de-carbonization policy with environmental justice goals. Poor people in the community will benefit if the technology is accessible to all. Low-income earners that own cars spend sizeable amount of their income on vehicle-related expenses. These cost include: fuel costs, maintenance, and insurance (Bauer & Lutsey, 2021). As EVs technology advance, it has potential to reduce these expenses. However, as it is now, there are few electric car offerings, and many are sold as luxury vehicles. Market incentives and subsidies are some of the ways to attract low income earners to acquire this technology. For example, California has set aside about $300 million to fill the equity gaps created by locations of battery charging stations.

Africans and EVs

The continent shift to electric cars lags behind China, Europe and the US. Paratransit vehicles dominate Africa and a new strategy to vehicle electrification in required. Adoption of electric vehicles in African have negative impact on the struggling power networks. Electric vehicles in Africa will improve air quality and help in integration of renewable energy in the power grids. Africa governments need to review taxation structure, adopt EV policies, and private sector invest in the technology.

Electricity consumers

This population group will benefit from electric car technology. Uptake for electricity producers is increased revenue (.Colletta & Hirmer, 2021). EVs will create high demand for energy and act as anchor load which boost innovation on electricity production and supply. Conversely, the use of electric car can result to more environmental pollution as company use nonrenewable sources to produce electricity to meet the demand. The key to realizing the benefits of electrical vehicle is to design cars which are suitable to specific context. This should be different from the existing high-income countries approaches.
