This is an E-portfolio for school all the guidelines are on the attachment (writing and editing). Students are expected to write reflection statements (100 words) for each of the 5 categories.

E-Portfolio Guidelines

these narratives are about your experiences at school. It is all about dental hygiene school and how your experiences in the program have impacted your understanding of each topic. Each narrative should have at least one example of an experience at school and you should relate it to the topic.

1-How have your experiences (cite them) at school impacted your personal goal towards becoming a dental hygienist? Are you accomplishing your goal or not? How has the program impacted what you thought dental hygiene was about?

-- One of the experiences that impacted me was having a mentor-mentee evaluation, that was very educational and prepared me on how my knowledge will increase along my career at NYU. I feel like step by step I’m accomplishing my goals because when I first started, I had no idea how to use dental instruments or how oral hygiene can impact overall health.

2-How have your experiences (cite them) at school impacted your understanding of becoming a professional? What is your understanding about what a professional is and does?

3- What experiences (cite them) in the program have enhanced your understanding of lifelong learning? What have you learned about lifelong learning in the last 13 weeks?

-Learning instrumentation techniques and be mindful that every patient has its own treatment plan, I cant provide the same dental treatment to all patients.

4-What new tools have you learned about (cite them) at school that you will use to help you with lifelong learning? I know you have learned how to use new resources, such as the CDC and the American Heart Association. These guidelines will change during your practice. Always include specific examples from your learning to illustrate the concept.

- Due to covid according to the cdc we need to follow a protocole in order to see patient safely, but let say in a few years there is no covid I still going to follow the same protocole in order to achieve cleanliness and have a clean environment .Patient deserves to have the best dental therapy that way I will develop a long relationship with pt.

5-Refer to the Dental Hygiene Code of Ethics (ADHA website) and reflect on experiences at school (cite them) that have shaped your understanding of this topic.

-Do not disclose pt’s tx plan with somebody else unless I have permission from the patient .
