First Project Summary
One-paragraph Narrative
The Fitness Field Facility Project was drawn from the need to revamp an obsolete and inadequate fitness infrastructure for soldiers on camp. I initiated this project during my MBA program to create a holistic plan for the health of our military personnel, including physical readiness and wellness. The project plan and proposal, as the final piece of the program, reflect my acquisition of academic knowledge and practical skills in project management, operations, design, and strategic planning. To make the artifact more responsive, new details about the funding sources, construction timelines, and quantifiable impact metrics have been added. Such amendments were created to create an attractive and comprehensive proposal that demonstrates the potential of this project to contribute to the long-term goals of soldier readiness, effective operations, and soldiers' well-being in general.
Second Project Summary
Container Yard Renovation Project, Philippines
The Supply Chain Management course for the MBA program was leveraged to rehabilitate an old container terminal in the Philippines with the primary goal of making shipping more efficient. The key purpose was to develop an efficient container terminal by applying the best techniques in stock management, material handling, and transport logistics. The acquisition of knowledge and skills in such areas as project management, operations management, and strategic planning took place during this project. Modernization included an analysis of the present infrastructure, pinpointing what led to bottlenecks and inefficiencies, and developing a practical plan to rejuvenate the warehouse, enhance storage capacity, and improve the logistics system. Our project success was to a large extent the result of our capability to study and resolve complex supply chain problems as well as introduce programs that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of operations in a global logistic environment.
