ENTR 1100 – 2022-01 – Assignment 3 Overview (A10) 2
ASSIGNMENT 3 – INTEREST ASSESSMENT & APPLICATION OVERVIEW
In Module 2.2 (Exploring Our Interests & Different Worldviews), you completed an interest assessment
and also shared your thoughts around how your interests align with or relate to the United Nations
Sustainable Development Goals.
This assignment asks that you expand on your initial discussion posting from Module 2.2.
TIP/SUGGESTION: Sometimes it helps to chat through these questions with at least one other person
(if not more!). You are encouraged to have conversations with your friends, family, peers, and even
John to help you figure out your responses to the questions below!
PART I: Your Interest Assessment
Reflect upon the results from your interest assessment and address these questions:
• What were your results from the assessment (which three areas did you score the highest in?)
• Did the results surprise you? Describe why or why not and use specific examples from your life
that showcase how you may currently be incorporating those results into your
actions/experiences.
• Have you ever completed an interest or personality assessment before? If so, briefly summarize
the type(s) of results you’ve previously received and how those do/not relate to the results you
received on this interest assessment. If you haven’t previously completed an assessment then
share what it was like to complete this one and how useful/valuable you feel it was.
PART II: Identified UNSDG(s) of Interest
• Of the 17 UNSDGs that are listed, which ones seem to stand out or resonate the most for you,
and why? For each of the ones that seem to be the most relevant, indicate how they align with
your interests or passions.
• Of the types of occupations that were listed in the results from your interest assessment, which
ones are you the most drawn to and how do you think those roles might best align with
supporting the UNSDG(s) that are of most interest to you?
PART III: Different Approaches
As discussed in Module 2.2, the lesson on worldviews indicates that businesses can approach issues and
even structure their operations from different viewpoints or perspectives.
Select ONE of the UNSDGs that is of most interest and relevance to you and your interests.
Then, identify ways that four different organizations are working to address this UNSDG (either directly
or indirectly). Two of them need to be certified B Corporations, while the other two can be any other
type of organization (but not a certified B Corporation). Briefly describe their respective
solutions/efforts and the impact/success they are noticing/having.
Reflect upon any differences that you notice between how the organizations are respectively aiming to
contribute towards the UNSDG.
NOTE: Any information that is copied/pasted or paraphrased (you simply replace some words) needs
to be properly cited with quotation marks and/or proper in-text citations. Not sure what these are?
See the special lesson John posted on the Assignments tab about properly citing your sources.

ASSESSING YOUR
SUBMISSION
The maximum score that can be earned is 15 points. Your grade will be based upon how you rate your own submission and how John assesses your submission. PART I: Your Interest Assessment (5 points) You have included mention of the top three results from your assessment and indicated how each of these align or do not with your own expectations and experiences. Specific examples from your life are incorporated to showcase application of each of the top three results, or to indicate that perhaps they are not in alignment with your typical actions/experiences. You have also indicated what previous interest or personality assessments you’ve completed previous (if any) and connect those with your current results and/or describe clearly how useful/valuable this exercise was with good rationale. PART II: Identified UNSDG of Interest (5 points) You directly connect your interests and passions with the UNSDGs and explain the connection(s) clearly. The occupation results from your interest assessment have been incorporated and you describe how those support and align with the UNSDG of interest. PART III: Different Approaches (5 points) You identify four different organizations (including two specific B-Corps) and include mention of their efforts/impact that they are making towards the identified UNSDG. Factors are incorporated to support your findings. Similarities or differences across the four examples are also identified with some brief analysis/reflection about those results. For top marks, you have integrated quotes or paraphrases from relevant websites to support your statements/claims, and have included a Works Cited in APA 7 format.
