Description
This course provides a learning environment that reinforces creativity and innovation. Students will examine the core concepts related to innovation and analyze effective strategies for managing start-ups or organizations. Topics will include leading innovation, scaling excellence from innovation, financing innovation, creative problem-solving, and design thinking.
Course Student Learning Outcomes
1.1 Develop tools to determine market response to innovation.
1.2 Analyze industry and market benchmarks to determine competitive climate.
1.3 Design milestones and metrics to track success.
2.1 Explain the product design, manufacturing, distribution, and sales chain.
2.2 Develop recordkeeping, inventory, and cash control systems.
2.3 Develop systems for product development, inventory control, and distribution.
2.4 Analyze pricing and sales strategies.
3.1 Create a quarterly forecast for market penetration.
3.2 Develop an online presence to engage potential customers.
3.3 Develop a terrestrial marketing plan to increase market share quarterly.
4.1 Calculate investment needs and use of funds.
4.2 Develop financial statements.
4.3 Calculate financial ratios.
4.4 Develop an investor exit strategy.
4.5 Evaluate capital compliance.
5.1 Determine the implications of change and its impact on company stakeholders.
5.2 Analyze management development needs.
5.3 Create a management succession plan.
5.4 Create a plan for support staff development.
5.5 Develop a board of directors or managers.
6.1 Present a plan for market penetration.
6.2 Present growth forecast for 3 years, including projected revenues, use of funds, breakeven point, and team development and utilization.
