Writing Scenario:
· You are the regional manager of mid-size paper supply company, Dunder Mifflin. Your office is responsible for the sale, warehousing, and delivering of paper supplies to businesses and government departments within a 500 mile range.
· In 2020, Dunder Mifflin temporarily transitioned all office staff to "remote work." Warehouse and delivery staff maintained their non-remote status.
· Now that vaccines are widely available and COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted, Dunder Mifflin has decided to return its employees to their offices.
· Dunder Mifflin's wants its office staff back in the offices because they believe it will increase productivity, they think the social environment of an office has value, and they want to make use of the office building and equipment they're spending a lot of money on.
· All office employees are expected to return to the office on July 15th, 2022. Employees may petition for a temporary exemption if they have a have medical condition that puts them at extra risk for complications from COVID-19.
· Employees who do not return to the office by July 15th without an exemption will be terminated.
· Masking at the workplace is not required, but employees are more than welcome to wear masks to mitigate their own risks.
· All employees must be fully vaccinated against covid-19 before returning to the workplace; employees who have a health condition preventing vaccination must apply for an exemption from corporate.
· If employees have questions about exemptions or this change in policy, they should contact their regional manager or their Human Resources representative (Toby Flenderson, 1-555-555-5555).
