My first example is a Craftsman 107.27768 Lawn Mower User Manual. This manuals purpose is to familiarize a new owner on how to operate, maintain, service, store and troubleshoot this lawn mower. Its context is to ensure a new owner has the proper knowledge on any warranty, safety rules and information, along with the product identification numbers. This manual successfully communicates its purpose within its context, is well written and easy to read. If followed it will allow the new owner to properly utilize this lawn mower.

The next example is a how to convert AVI to WMV file written by Alessandra Leonhardt. She utilizes a free converter that is downloadable to complete her conversion. Its purpose is to show users how to convert an AVI file to a WMV file. Its context is a step by step instruction on how to download a free converter, install the free converter and run the free converter. This how to guide does a great job on communicating what is necessary in simple and step by step instructions to complete the task of converting AVI files to WMV files.

My last example is a guide to watering house plants by Jessy Ratfink. Its purpose is to teach homeowners that have house plants when and how to water them. Its context is a step by step instruction on what tools are required, how to check to see if a plant needs water by weight, utilizing a moisture meter, using a chopstick and other ways to check if a plant needs water. She successfully communicates the guides purpose through the use of pictures and step by step instructions. She includes bottom watering, types of plants that require more or less watering and top watering. This guide is simple to read and understand.
