ENGR 425 Reinforced Concrete Structures Project Assignment

Given: A 2-story parking garage structure is to be built in the Bay Area. San Francisco usaThe design of the reinforced concrete shall conform ACI 318-14. A 120-ft x 250-ft site is given.
Recommended steps:
1. Virtual navigate a parking garage of your team’s choice. Document the slab system,
the dimension of beams, columns, and span lengths. 2. Study the architectural plans for the parking garage your team will design. 3. Set up the design dead load and live load table. 4. Layout the foundations. (The allowable bearing pressure on the soil is 3000 psf.) 5. Design the columns, beams, one-way slabs and foundations. 6. Draw the details of the members mentioned above.
Following is a list of material to be submitted.
First submittal: 1. Dimension of the parking garage. 2. Architectural plan. 3. Dead load & live load table. 4. Typical beams and slab design.
Final Submittal:
1. Typical columns and beams design 2. Footings design. 3. Calculations to justify your designs. 4. The final report.
