Transfer Credit FAQs
1) What requirements are needed to be qualified to transfer to Strayer?
· Students must complete a minimum of one full-time year at his/her college or university to be considered a transfer student.
· All Official Transcripts must be turned into the registrar’s office before being considered a transfer student.
· Students are required to have a 2.8 GPA or higher from their previous institution to be considered a transfer student.
· Admission to Strayer University as a transfer student is not guaranteed and is subject to the previously mentioned requirements.

2) If I know I will complete the requirements, but not until after the application deadline, can I still apply to be a transfer student?
· Students who have not completed at least one year of full-time credit hours will not be able to apply to be a transfer student. All credit hours needed to transfer must be complete before applying.
3) If I have attended more than one school, do I need to get transcripts from all of them?
· Official transcript(s) from every college or university that you have attended need to be sent directly to the Registrar’s Office. These transcripts include any work that you may have done overseas, through joint and dual enrollment and summer transient programs.

4) From what schools will Strayer accept transfer credits?

5) How long will it take to determine which classes will transfer to Strayer?
· Once Strayer has received all of the official transcripts that you want to provide the university’s registrar’s office will then determine if the courses taken at other universities are equivalent to the content and outcomes at Strayer University.
· The process of verifying your transfer credits can take from one week to one month, depending on how many courses are being transferred.
· For this reason, if you are thinking about transferring to Strayer, you get those transcripts in as fast as you can.
6) How many undergraduate transfer credits will Strayer accept?
· “No more than 126 quarter hours of credit may be applied toward a bachelor’s degree; no more than 135 quarter hours of credit may be applied toward a bachelor’s of nursing degree, no more than 63 quarter hours of credit may be applied toward an associate’s degree; no more than 22.5 quarter hours of credit may be applied toward a diploma program” (Strayer.com, 2018).

Intended Audience
The intended audience of this FAQ sheet is anyone that is looking to transfer to Strayer University, to include all individuals that are currently in school at another college or university. Someone who has been to another college or university in the past and needs to know more about transferring previously earned credits. As well as someone who hasn’t started college yet and might be looking into multiple options for their schooling path.
