Hello All,

I agree with the Author in the sense that humans are the ones who "broke" e-mail. I believe that overall, e-mail is not evil. After all, it does allow for instant mass communication, thus improving efficiency in a professional world. A downfall of e-mail that often creates burdens is when businesses request an e-mail address in order to receive information. When you're out and about, whether it is a county fair or what have you, vendors are always looking for folks to sign up for e-mail distributions and in return, they will give you some sort of giveaway. This satisfies us in the short term, but when we go to look at our email in the following days, etc. we now have more spam mail added to our inbox.

A solution I personally have used for my personal e-mail is I have an old e-mail I use for anything I feel will begin to send spam, and I keep my regular e-mail for important things like bills, or subscriptions I actually use. On the professional side, I currently run a pre-basic training location for the Army. E-mail is vital for my day-to-day operations because we are constantly getting new enlistment notifications, receiving the most up-to-date guidance from Operations, and frequent communication with several other areas.
