1. Your writing style:

a. What is your topic?
b. What question are you trying to answer?

i. Example: Literacy is or isn’t important; you did or didn’t have a strong history, etc.
d. What might others disagree with? How could you counter those?
i. Example: Some may say I am a good student because I’m smart. I would say I’m a strong learner because reading and writing were valued and practiced in my home early in my childhood.
3. Include descriptions and details to help us be there -- in the moment
a. What was your favorite book as a child? Why?
b. When was that memorable moment – reading or writing? What was the season and the weather?

d. Who? What? When? Where? Why?
e. Context – what was going on in your life? How old were you?
f. What did it accomplish for you?
g. Who was with you?
h. How did you struggle with reading and writing? How were you successful?
