1. Review MLA Format for In-Text Citations and the Works Cited in Part III of The MLA Handbook (61-115).

OR in The Norton Introduction to Literature (Chapter 31).

2. Review the examples of outlines below:

· The traditional approach: The Alphanumeric Outline (Examples)

· An alternative to the traditional outline: Mind-mapping (Examples)

· Graphic organizer: Organizing a Research-Supported Essay

3. Write an outline. Start with an introduction and your thesis. Refer back to your original proposal. Note where you plan to include source information in the points that correlate to your body paragraphs and subtopics.
