Outline Worksheet for Argumentative/Persuasive Essay
What problem do you see younger people encounter in the education system or in society that impacts their ability to successful (academically, financially, or in life)?
A problem that young people face in the education system is school shootings. The system has not done enough to protect students and make them feel that their school environment is safe and a place where they can focus on learning. The Parkland school shooting is a perfect example of how the education system failed to protect students.
How could that problem be eliminated or improved? Is there a realistic solution or improvement that can be made?
It is very difficult to eliminate school shootings, but they can be reduced by hiring more professionals such as counselors, social workers, school psychologists, and resources officers.
What change in the education system or law are you proposing?
The change that should happen would be for groups of professionals to work together to identify the person at risk to himself and others so that a tragedy can be prevented. For example, once students and/or teachers identify such a person, they report it to a counselor.
Explain 3 to 5 key claims of this proposed change:
1. School environment
2. School shooting reduce
3. People who are sick get help
Now, you will craft a thesis statement that will combine some of the above elements. What change in the education system or law are you proposing AND what are the key reasons in support of that position? The answer to this question will be your THESIS STATEMENT:

To avoid another tragedy at school shooting people need to come together as one to find a solution, like school environment, school shooting reduce, and people who are sick need help.

You need to develop at least 3 body paragraphs that directly connect to the points made within your thesis. Therefore, you should first craft those topic sentences. Each of these topic sentences should directly connect to some point mentioned within the thesis statement itself.

First of all, for the school environment are very good for the student because it’s show they potential to achieve their dream and feel protected.
Topic Sentence #2:
Although, school shooting can be reducing if they pass a law that to control the gun and have a background check and increase the aging.
Topic Sentence #3:
Many students suffer from mental issues, but they don’t talk about. Therefore, it will be great to have help from professional that understand them, like know where the problem from.
