Introductory Writing Prompt

Writing is essential in every aspect of life. One of the main focuses Composition is utilizing the ability to correctly use Standard English while writing. At the beginning of each semester, before mandatory writing assignments are assigned, students are given an opportunity to express themselves with a one page prompt selecting a topic of their choice. You are to choose from one of the topics below.

· Write about a time you felt out of place, awkward, and uncomfortable. Try not to focus on your feelings, but project your feelings onto the things around you.

· In order to survive, people have been known to go to great lengths and to do things they would not ordinarily do. Write an essay for your teacher that explains the lengths to which people will go in order to survive. You may use examples from real life, books, movies, or television shows to support your essay.
