Introduction
Electrical engineering is a diverse and fascinating field. In my report I will discuss what the future outlook for electrical engineering is in the United States.
An electrical engineer can work in many different industries like aerospace, automotive, defense, semiconductor, and power generation. With the growing importance of electronics in our daily lives. Electrical engineers are an extremely important asset for any industry to have in modern, and future times.
Electrical engineering took off in the 18th and 19th century. Some of the early pioneers in electrical engineering are Georg Simon Ohm who discovered the law, named after him, which states that the current flow through a conductor is directly proportional to the voltage and inversely proportional to the resistance, Hans Christian Ørsted who was a Danish physicist and chemist who discovered that electric current in a wire can deflect a magnetized compass needle, a phenomenon the importance of which was rapidly recognized and which inspired the development of electromagnetic theory, André-Marie Ampère who was a French physicist who founded and named the science of electromagnetism. Ampere, the unit for measuring electric current, is named after him.
Data Section
According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook, the job growth between for electrical engineers is expected to grow about 5%. Employment growth is expected to be about as fast as the average for all occupations. Job growth for electrical and electronics engineers is projected to occur largely in professional, scientific, and technical services firms.
