Employees without EI are not self-aware and cannot recognize emotions as they take place. Without self-awareness employees cannot be aware of their strengths and weaknesses. They aren’t able to address problems and handle complications. Emotional intelligence helps the employees to develop effective communication skills. Employees who share their goals for the team lead a more efficient workplace. Effective communication is good tool to use to motivate people. Good communication helps employees work more effectively as a group in the achievement of the organizational goals. Emotional Intelligence also helps employees to have self-awareness. Self-awareness helps an employee to focus on his positive attributes and work on eliminating his negative attributes (Bard, 2009).
