Dear officer concerned,

I am Kevin’s mother. My son's student number is 00632609, a senior student right now.

1.I am writing to ask about my son's academic performance at school in these years, including his transcripts, attendance, comments from peers and professors, and his graduation status. Could you please provide me with such information?

2. When he talked about his plans after graduation, he told me that he would like to find a job in the United States, instead of applying to the graduate program immediately. Could you please explain to me whether it is easy to find a job as an international undergraduate and if there should be some problems we parents should pay attention to? Do you have any suggestions regarding his plan?

Since I am not available to see you face to face, I am sincerely looking forward to your reply.

Thank you for your kindness and time!

Best wishes,

Pretend you are my English professor replying the email. You can use your name as officer’s name. For the first question, University won't allow them to update you about the student, unless the student and parents sign the form that says that mom and dad have access to your school records. Progress and grade reports do not come home, either. It's usually up to the student to share this information with the parents.

Answer the first question as a Formal email. Answer the second question like a professor.
