Investigating Electrical Engineering as a career
I wanted to investigate Electrical Engineering as a career in terms of the salary and educational information. I am interested to know the type of jobs in engineering and who the real employers in those jobs are. Having identified the real jobs in electrical engineering as a career, I need to know the requirements for each job (Bangalore, 2013). In my investigation, I discovered the top three jobs in electrical engineering. This jobs are: ASRC senior Electronic engineer working in the federal holding company as a defense engineer. Another category of job is the engineer in the high voltage power electronic design engineer who are involved in performing components selection and schematic designs of the printed wiring board. The last among the top jobs in electrical engineering is the electronics lead project engineer who offer best solutions to the product life of an aircraft.
Having identified the top three jobs in electrical engineering, the next thing to understand are the duties of an electrical and electronics engineer. First and foremost, engineers come up with new ways of using electrical power and how the new ways will improve and develop the electrical products (In Atterberry, 2018). From their calculations, engineers will be able to come up with specifications and standards for construction, manufacturing, and installations. It is the duty of an engineer to determine the specification codes of electrical products to ensure they meet the IEEE standards. Another duty of an engineer is to examine the complaints and problems of customers and give recommendations that will solve alleviate those problems. In principle, electrical engineers partner with project managers to ensure projects are completed within the specified time.
Next it will be helpful to identify the duties of electrical and electronic engineer. It is good now to know the working environment of an electrical and electronic engineer and who the current largest employer is. From research, it is estimated that electrical and electronic engineers hold up to 500, 300 jobs in the United States of America (In Tian, 2015). The largest employer in electrical works is engineering services which account to about 20 percent and in electronics engineering, it is the telecommunication sector which account to 19 percent of the total jobs. Having identified that top jobs in electrical and electronics engineering are at bar, I will pursue my passion of telecommunications to ensure I leave the world not as I found it.
