Leadership philosophy improves leadership in an organization by helping leaders develop better leadership skills and values that make them better leaders. Leaders develop values that are based on the vision and mission of an organization. A leadership philosophy makes a leader better by emphasizing positive beliefs about people and the organization, something that results in a unique leadership style. These beliefs guide how a leader responds to both people and situations. A leader learns to see the good in their teams and work on making them perform better. They also develop positive attitudes towards life helping them create room for others to improve their performance for the overall benefit of the organization.

Philosophy developed by organizational members reinforces accountability among them. Members make the work of leaders easier since they understand that they have to be accountable for what they do. With each member working responsibly, a culture of accountability gets room to grow. Members accept when they make mistakes and act accordingly to correct them. Besides, it eliminates issues such as giving lame excuses for mistakes or blaming others for one’s mistakes (Gonzales, 2019). Hence, when the members of a given organization develop a leadership philosophy, they change the organizational culture to emphasize on accountability that helps improve the functionality of the organization.

When members of an organization develop a philosophy, the philosophy helps model their behaviors into better ones that ultimately change the culture of the organization. Leaders learn to walk their talk by leading by example and the rest of the team learns from them. The philosophy emphasizes on what leaders expect out of their teams such as the habits that need changing by changing theirs first (Messina & Wilde, 2017). When leaders change, it becomes easier for the rest of the team to change since they have role models to follow. The resulting behavior reflects a new organizational behavior that tells much about its culture
