EEX 6051 – RTI Group Assignment
Assignment Guidelines
• This assignment includes a group component and an individual component.
• The group component consists of group members working together to develop an
overview of RTI.
• The individual component consists of each group member presenting either a
benefit or challenge to implementing RTI. A four-person group should divide up
responsibilities so that the group addresses two benefits and two challenges,
while a three-person group should address an appropriate combination of
benefits and challenges that total 3 altogether (e.g., one benefit and two
challenges, or two benefits and one challenge). See RTI Assignment Format below.
• For this assignment, you will be required to review professional, peer-reviewed journal
articles related to RTI. You must use in-text citations to reference your ideas and
provide one references page that includes all sources used by the group (use APA 7th
ed. formatting).
RTI Assignment Format
Overview of RTI - paragraph(s) developed collaboratively by all group members
• Describe RTI including an explanation of how this process is being used in K-12
schools. This section should conclude with a thesis statement that lets the reader
know the focus of the paper (i.e., the discussion of benefits and challenges to
follow).
Benefits and Challenges to Implementing RTI - The following subsections that discuss benefits and challenges of implementing RTI is to be completed separately by each group
member. That is, each person should address a separate benefit or challenge. A four-person
group should divide up responsibilities so that the group addresses two benefits and two
challenges, while a three-person group should address an appropriate combination of benefits

References Page o As a group develop a references page in APA 7th ed. formatting that includes all sources
used in the assignment.
Tips for Wri8ng Paragraphs
o Paragraphs should begin with a key or topic sentence that states the main point of the
paragraph simply. This sentence should provide a context for the reader to understand
what is to follow. The paragraph should then be developed to include details explaining,
and evidence supporting, the topic sentence.
o If a paragraph seems to have two key points and both are relevant to your argument,
write one paragraph for each point.
