EET-2210 Lab Report Guidelines

EET-2210 Lab Reports starting with Lab 1 will need to follow these standards to receive

full credit.

Lab reports are due online the Friday the week after a lab is performed by noon.

Lab reports must be saved as a pdf file which can be done through Microsoft word. All

other formats will not be accepted and will receive a zero. Lab reports must be typed out, with

images used only as needed. Lab reports that are just a collection of pictures will receive a

zero.

Lab reports are to be an individual effort. Duplicate reports may receive half credit or a

zero.

Lab reports will have the following sections in this order.

1. Introduction/Objective

2. Procedure

3. Data

4. Discussion

5. Conclusion

Introduction – The introduction needs to be a brief overview of this lab. Talk about what

the lab was and what the point/objectives of it were.

Procedure – Talk about what you did in the lab that led to the successful completion of the

lab. This could be talking about the setup, acquiring the data, or whatever else you may

have done. Do not use a numbered list of steps.

Data – Place your lab data in this section. Data should be whatever you asked to measure in

lab and also what you decided to measure yourself. Data could also include the ideal values

of the measurements. It is up to you to format the data in such a way that I can make sense

of it.

Discussion – Talk about the data that you acquired and relate it to the mathematics that are

relevant to the lab. Talk about whether or not your data makes sense, the ideal vs

measured values, and other topics that you feel are important to communicate. The

discussion should read like you understand what you did in lab.

Conclusion – Talk about what you learned, if your data make sense in the end, or anything

else you feel would be good to conclude a lab.

Final Note: Lab reports will be graded for good formatting and proper English/grammar.

Good formatting simply means that how things are presented in the report are easy to work

with and read. English language issues and formatting issues will result in grades being

lowered.
