Parse's Humabecoming paradigm guides the practice of nurses to focus on quality of life as it is described and lived. This theory serve a purpose in the nursing community. Nursing is both, a discipline and a profession. This theory see living experiences as a central focus.
There are nine fundamental assumptions about humanuniverse, ethos of humanbecoming and living quality. One of the assumptions describe humanuniverse as indivisible, unpredictable and everchanging. The world in changing constantly, creating new expectations, challenges, things to learn and improve. As nurses we should focus in people from the point of view of physiological, biological, psychological and spiritual, interacting with them. My patients suffer from kidney failure, they have many health problems, worries, doubts, and they need our support. As a nurse practitioner, i will continue to have a multidisciplinary approach to increase patient outcomes, participating in their diagnosis and prescribing an effective treatment that allows them a better quality of life. Another assumption is living quality is the personal expression of uniqueness. Nurses have to focus in that every person has their own problems, wishes, priority, desires and we have to respect them and work in order to help them. As a nurse practitioner, I want to be involved in improve my patient' life, teaching them how to deal with their diagnosis, how to prevent further chronic diseases, healthy eating habits, knowing their health problems and concerns on an individual basis, interpreting the results of their labs, do everything to make them have a quality and prosper life.
