Provide a reasoned and critical response of approximately 1500 words (+/-10%) to any one of the given topics. All papers are to be formatted consistently using a reference style of your choice. This essay is valued at 30%.

1. Examine the role the school should play, if any, inthe preparation for EITHER civic life OR making moral decisions.

2. Schools do not educate, but instead try to create people who will fit into defined roles in society.

Is this a defensible view?

3. The implicit and null curricula are as important as the official curriculum for the teacher.

Evaluate this position.

4. Moral education and civic education are best realised through the hidden curriculum rather than the explicit curriculum.

Comment on the merit of this view, focusing on EITHER moral education OR civic education.
