Abstract
This paper is about the attraction of Edinburgh Castle in Scotland. The main focus of this paper will be on the architecture, history, and culture of Edinburgh Castle. Edinburgh has numerous attractions, including but not restricted to the Royal Mile, New Town, and Old Town (Beattie & Schneider, 2018). These areas contain many attractions, such as shops and cafes where tourists can buy souvenirs and snacks; museums displaying artifacts from past eras; museums displaying items from present days including Scottish arts, crafts, and fashion designers; pubs offering live entertainment from bands who play folk music at concerts on several nights throughout each week. Edinburgh Castle. The capital city of Scotland is the most visited site in the United Kingdom, with over 3 million people visiting each year. The Castle offers various activities, including guided tours and a gift shop (Beattie & Schneider, 2018). It was initially built in the 11th century to the 21st century as a military stronghold, but it has since evolved into a site that celebrates Edinburgh's history and culture.

Edinburgh Castle: Description & Significance
The Edinburgh Castle is a historic fortress on Calton Hill in Edinburgh, Scotland. The Castle stands on an artificial mound known as Craigmillar Castle Moss, which was created for defensive purposes but became a tourist attraction once it was joined to the existing site. The Castle is among Europe's largest and oldest fortified venues (Caldwell,2019). Located on the High Street in Edinburgh, Scotland, and has been used as a defense site, prison, military garrison, and royal palace through the centuries. This means that whoever enjoys the adventure in the Castle is always walking in a place where queens, kings, and soldiers existed earlier. The complex includes many original structures, including a fortified bridge across the River Clyde known as "Loirston Bridge."Edinburgh Castle is significant to Scotland because it is the home of the Crown Jewels of Scotland and holds many historical treasures. The Castle houses one of Europe's most extensive collections of medieval military artifacts, providing insight into life during this period. While the Castle symbolizes the country and island, it also has historical significance. It was built during the reigns of David I and Robert Bruce, who fought many battles over the Castle's ownership (Liao & Bartie, 2022). The Castle played an essential role in Scottish history and was a location for many famous battles between kings and battles against invaders.
Attraction Geography & Climate
Edinburgh Castle--Scotland is located on Earthy of the Scottish capital, located in Scotland near the town of Edinburgh. The Castle was the home of monarchs for centuries and was one of the most important castles in Scotland. The summit of Edinburg Castle Rock is 130 meters (430 ft) above sea level, with rocky cliffs to the south, west, and north, rising to 80 meters (260 ft) above the surrounding landscape. The route used to access the Castle is only found on the eastern side of the Castle because that is the only side where the ridge slopes more gently (Jones et al., 2022). Edinburgh Castle is in Scotland at the foot of Arthur's Seat. The oldest part of this fortress dates back to the 11th century when the Scots took a defensive position close to their current location.
Unpredictable weather patterns and seasonal changes characterize the climate of Edinburgh Castle. The Castle is located on a hill, so it is affected by wind and weather more than other structures. The cold days in winter, while not as cold as other northern Europe countries, can have adverse effects on tourists as they are not accustomed to the cold weather. In addition, the changing seasons create challenges for attractions such as gardens; warmer days cause flowers to grow more quickly than during cooler months when fewer blooms bloom. The Castle and its surrounding land are in central Scotland in a temperate region, which means it experiences both cold winters and warm summers (Jones et al., 2022). Scottish castles were built for periods of peace but also for protection during times of war. Therefore, the climate of Edinburgh Castle offers visitors an opportunity to experience Scottish culture and history at a time with which most people are familiar.
Host Destination Dynamics
Edinburgh Castle is located on Castle Rock in Edinburgh, Scotland. It is a popular tourist attraction and one of the most visited tourist destinations in the country. The Castle has been used as a royal residence and an important defensive position since its construction (Liao & Bartie, 2022). The Castle was built on an eminence and guarded by a ditch and rampart that protected it from the surrounding heights. The oldest parts of the castle date back to around 1130, but many additions were made over centuries. The Castle remains one of Europe's most visited attractions today.
Transportation Systems Used to Access Edinburgh Castle in Scotland
One means of transportation to get to and from Edinburgh Castle is the bus. Two routes connect Scotland's capital city with the rest of the country: one route goes through Forfar and stops at many places along its route, while the other travels through Fochabers and stops in Stirling (Liao & Bartie, 2022). The train is the other central transportation system that connects Edinburgh Castle with other areas of the country. The train travels between Inverkeithing and Perth via London King's Cross station. People can also walk or bike around town because several designated cycle paths crisscross the city (Liao & Bartie, 2022). Some challenges associated with these systems include how they affect air quality as they pass by residential areas, how they impact zoning laws regarding where buses can park or move around, how they impact parking availability for commuters who depend on owning cars only during certain times of day when public transportation is more efficient than owning multiple vehicles at once.
Classification & Ownership of Edinburgh Castle in Scotland
Edinburgh Castle is an artificial formation and a natural tourist attraction in Scotland. It is one of the most famous medieval castles in the world, and it is also considered a cultural and historical monument (Goelder& Ritchie, 2013). Edinburgh Castle is a massive and imposing structure located in Edinburgh, Scotland. The Crown has owned and managed it since its construction in the early-mid 16th century. Currently, Edinburgh Castle is operated by Historic Scotland - a national agency of the Scottish government's Ministry for Culture, Sport, Heritage and External Affairs (Beattie & Schneider, 2018)
Key Features of Edinburgh Castle in Scotland
There are many things to see and do inside Edinburgh Castle, from the Great Hall, where you can witness court gatherings in the Crown Jewelry Collection and see artwork spanning centuries, to small rooms throughout Edinburgh Castle with incredible treasures. There is even a ghost walk! Many myths surround the Castle; some say it was built by William the Conqueror. Others believe that a Catholic priest once lived there because, in Gaelic folklore, people believed their dreams were granted if they slept underneath this Castle (Beattie & Schneider, 2018). Either way, Edinburgh Castle is an excellent site for anyone traveling through Scotland or looking for something fun.
Tourism & Tourists at Edinburgh Castle in Scotland
( Graphic 1: Piuchan , Manisa. (2018). Plog’s and Butler’s Models: a critical review of Psychographic Tourist Typology and the Tourist Area Life Cycle. Turizam. 22. 10.5937/turizam22-18835. )Leaving this graphic and caption in place, Edinburgh Castle is one of Scotland's most important tourist attractions. It is one of Europe's largest castles and was built on a narrow piece of land that stretched from the city center to the river, with only a ditch separating it from the water in front. Visitors can see its battlements and towers around town, including the city center, which overlooks Princes Street Gardens and Edinburgh Castle Museum. (Liao & Bartie, 2022). The most popular types of tourists to Edinburgh Castle would be individual mass tourists and explorers. While travelers sometimes visit, these are rarer than in other cities in Scotland. Most of the tourist traffic is from organized groups who come from all over Europe on organized tours. It is also important to note that this type of visitor will not wander around aimlessly; they will check out the main areas first, like the courtyard area or castle grounds, which are easier for beginning tourists to see without walking too far away from those that might draw them into other areas (McWilliams/Ologies of Tourism, Plog, 1974).

Impact, Strengths & Weaknesses of
Edinburgh Castle
Strengths & Resources of Edinburgh Castle in Scotland & Its Surrounding Destination
The Castle has been a royal residence and played a crucial role in European political life for centuries. It holds many records in its history of battles, sieges, executions, and human tragedy. However, in recent years Edinburgh Castle has also become a place where people enjoy themselves by going on tours through the grounds and visiting exhibits inside of the Castle itself (Caldwell, 2019). As a tourist destination, it has many things that make it unique and exciting, from its natural architecture to interesting tourist attractions like spectacles at night, which are viewed from any angle of 360 degrees around you on the towers you can see all around you whenever you want.
Weaknesses & Barriers of Edinburgh Castle in Scotland & Its Surrounding Destination
The weaknesses of Edinburgh Castle are its poor location, with no direct public transport links. The only train station is 1 mile away, and the nearest underground station is 2 miles away. The area has no high-street shopping, so tourists must bring everything they need daily (Caldwell, 2019). Also, there are not many restaurants outside of the castle grounds, but these tend to be very expensive, so it can be difficult for a food budget when traveling as this was our biggest problem in Scotland
COVID-19 Related Data Associated With Edinburgh Castle
COVID-19 has impacted Edinburgh Castle in several ways. Firstly, the primary source of damage to buildings has been mortar falling from the walls, which may not be considered 'severe' by some standards, but it poses risks to safety and public health. It is also only possible for the Castle to fully repair buildings with this kind of damage because it requires specialist skills, materials, and knowledge available to most people working on-site during renovation work (Edinburgh Castle- Scotland, 2023, para. 7).
Personal Perspectives/Review/Final Thoughts on Edinburgh Castle
This is the one {and only!} opportunity to speak in this document is the 'I/Me' and 'You' tenses. I am more interested in traveling to Edinburgh Castle because I learned that it was built on the site of a legendary medieval castle. I am excited to visit this destination and experience this attraction, which is in Scotland. This site is a historic attraction that has been around for many centuries. Many people will be interested in seeing what this place looks like; the architecture and other aspects of the Castle are fascinating to observe. There are also many things to do here, from free tours to taking on your own or by appointment with informative guides. This would be worthwhile if I were going there as part of a family holiday or with friends who might want to visit it.
