Two of the most important philosophers that I will be discussing in this essay are Socrates and Plato. Let's start by analyzing Socrates and what he stands for, Socrates never documented any of his wisdom and thought that knowledge is driven by dialogue. Socrates had also said that human learned better through socialization and communication. As a Sophist taught his students to argue and to do so persuasively. As, a Naturalist, he looked at everything in their surroundings trying to find a reason why. During this time the Greeks had said, “Socrates was wiser than the “wisest””people because he knew his own limits: he knew that he did not know, while they mistakenly thought they did.” (Demarzio and Ginberg 4). Socrates wanted people to become more open-minded and realized that something was wrong in Athens. Socrates wanted the people to know that there was more than just one truth.

Plato’s in the other hand was Socrates student. He always disagreed with his teacher always questioning socrates methods and his wisdom because he always say another reasoning for Socrates knowledge. Plato says that you should always question your teacher and find out More. Plato was an observer and followed the footsteps of Socrates everywhere. He is considered to be a guardian during this time, which meaning he choose for the people who they will be. Plato’s wants people to have true knowledge, “education is a matter of leading a person from mere belief to true knowledge.” (Demarzio and Ginberg 4). The Allegory Cave was a concept of finding out the truth, and in this case, the slave that was in the cave finds out the truth about the shadows. These shadows that he has been seeing all this time that he’s been locked up were all just objects. Objects and people that have cast a shadow from the burning pit of fire. So the prisoner finally decided to look back and so happens to get free from the chains and realizes a little entryway where he see's this bright light leading to someplace else. So as the man walks outside the beaming bright sun blinds him because he has been in the cave for so long that his eyes are not used to being free again. Once he finally realizes the sun and the sky the trees that are all around him he can’t believe his eyes. Now this man that has escaped the cave is now the teacher, the prisoner becomes the teacher because he obtains more knowledge and knows more than the other slaves that are back in the cave.

So now this man has all this knowledge about the world that's on the outside that he has to tell the others and let them have this knowledge as well. He is going to teach them (The Students) that there is more than the objects on the wall. But then there's a weird turn in this story. Thinking that his friends back in the cave would believe him for what he is saying is true they think that he is a liar and that he has gone mad. So Plato explains this is what it feels like to be a philosopher. You can try to educate the public like how Socrates did but no one wants to be educated or knowledgeable instead want to be foolish and stubborn.

Moreover, I believe that both of these philosophers perspectives are applicable to today's educational studies. Some students in today's world can only obtain knowledge through socialization like in lecture classes in college. Not only by socialization but question each other work to find a true answer to their questions on who, what, where, when, why, how. Also, believe that students find the true knowledge in education in today's society by doing the same thing and questioning their teacher's knowledge on how they know what they know to find a true answer to for their wisdom.
