The purpose of the article “PASSport to Success: An examination of a parent education. program”, is to evaluate how successful the program that helps parents learn useful techniques that will help their children to do well in a school based in California. Testing for the children of the parents that attended the workshop was done before and after to measure their child’s academic success. The results showed that for the children that their parents attended the workshop scores were higher. The evaluation suggest that parent education plays a significant role in how parents view helping their child as well as tips such as note taking, and memorization. The article imfasizes the importance of the educating parents to learn some new and some tried and proven techniques to help their children with class projects, assignments, and homework. With the ultimate goal being better grades and higher test scores.
