Details offer insight into the setting. Use at least two resources from the coursework to support your writing. One paragraph. Keep in mind that early childhood is considered ages birth through grade 3 so focus on that timeframe.

Reflection of my Overall Development as a Young Child

Use this section to tell the reader about what you were like as a young child, using the subheadings below to guide your writing and the reader. Were you outgoing? Shy? Did you walk early? Speak full sentences? More than one language? Did you go to new people easy or attached to one person? Like school? What was hard for you? Etc. One to two paragraphs.

Physical Development

Use this section to discuss your physical development as a child. You may need to ask family members, look in baby books, pictures, videos, etc. Relate this to the what the resources in the classroom say about certain milestones…walking, talking, potty training, etc. Two-three paragraphs.

Social Development

Do the same for this section. Were you a social child? Enjoy being with others? Have separation anxiety? Did this change over time. Two-three paragraphs.

Emotional Development

Use the resources in the course work to discuss your emotional growth at this stage. Were you afraid of anything? Fearless? Did any circumstances affect your emotional development? Two to three paragraphs.

Cognitive Development

Did you learn easily at this time? Struggle with some subjects? Like school? Again, use the resources to support your discussion. Two to three paragraphs.

Summary

Write a closing paragraph summarizing an overall view of your early childhood development. One to two paragraphs.
