DISCUSSION 3: ENTERTAINMENT TRENDS EBS 416-O—Strategic Planning

Overview This discussion board will focus on identifying existing trends in entertainment business and some possible responses organizations can make to these trends. Those responses are part of strategy formulation, the main topic for Week 3.

For this discussion, think about what you see going on that is new and exciting in the entertainment industry, representing the newest trends. Trends can be in any one of the PESTEL areas, Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Environmental, and Legal.

you already see going on in entertainment business that is new, different, exciting or possibly concerning? Describe in detail. (If you have no experience with the entertainment industry and its newest trends, look online at a few websites that deal with the topic of entertainment trends, and share your findings. Be sure to include links to the sites you mention.)

2. Based on the trend(s) you selected, what responses do you already see taking place by entertainment businesses or what ideas could you suggest to them regarding ways in which they should respond, in order to prepare them for future success and maintain or increase their competitive advantage?
