Designing Your Project: Data

The purpose of the discussion question is to allow you to demonstrate your understanding of this Module’s key learning points and how you might apply them in a given situation. The online discussion will provide you with a significant opportunity to actively engage in the learning process and will foster collaboration and higher-order thinking skills through your participation.

To successfully complete your discussion posts, you will need to do substantial research, reading, and studying of the topic. In addition to the assigned materials found in the lesson area, you must conduct your own research using the university databases and other appropriate scholarly sources. Sources used should be peer-reviewed and published no more than six years ago.

In the first week of the module, you will post your response to the discussion question. Your first post must be a minimum of 600 words and posted by Wednesday. Your discussion posts must include evidence from the lesson, textbook, and other scholarly sources in the form of APA formatted in-text citations and references.

Remember: All writing must be supported by academic (scholarly sourced) literature and will appear in APA format including proper in-text citations and references at the end. You must clear cite each sentence that contains materials sourced from the lesson area and your academic resources. Your work will be checked for academic integrity by a plagiarism system. During the following week, you will respond to at least two of your classmates. The replies should be at least 300 words and must include evidence from the lesson, textbook, and other scholarly sources in the form of APA formatted in-text citations and references.

Initial Post (600 words)

Answer the following questions in a scholarly post of 600 words or more by the first Wednesday of the module period and must include evidence from the lesson, textbook, and other scholarly sources. Remember, sources used should be peer-reviewed and published no more than six years ago.

Read the case study  Fraud versus Ethics: The Case of the Backdating of Stock Options   (https://clutejournals.com/index.php/JBER/article/download/2406/2453/9626) found in Lesson 2 and write a synopsis that answers the following questions:

· What type of data was used for the research?

· How did the author synthesize and organize the data?

· What references were used to defend the position?

· Were the references used sufficient? Why or why not?

· Did the author adequately defend his position with relevant data?

Fully explain your answers and ensure academic references are utilized.

Initial posts

· Must be 600-words which should NOT include the reference list

· Must be supported by evidence of wider reading

· Must have sources cited in the text as well as in the end reference list

· Should include examples where possible
