Welcome to  Assignment 3.  To successfully complete this assignment, you will need to do substantial research, reading, and study of the topics. In addition to the assigned readings found in the lesson area, you must conduct your own research using the university databases and other appropriate sources. Sources used should be peer-reviewed and published no more than six years ago.

The Assignment

Research Activity - Qualitative Research

Evaluate each of these qualitative tools, identifying their advantages and disadvantages, and how they will help in your research project:

· Interviews

· Focus Groups

· Survey

· Observations

· Case Study

Next, decide which of these qualitative tools you can use in your research.

Evaluate your chosen tool(s) and explain clearly your rationale for choosing that particular tool(s).

E.g. if you choose to do interviews, who will you interview, how (face-to-face, video, telephone), how long will the interview be, will you record it and if so, what happens with the recording? You also have to think carefully about the research question and what data you want to get and then design the research protocol. That means thinking about the questions themselves and writing them out.

Deliverable

Upload both parts of the assignment in one Word file. Your submission should be a minimum 4 pages in length and supported with evidence of wider reading.

Remember: All writing must be supported by academic (scholarly sourced) literature and will appear in APA format including proper in-text citations and references at the end. You must clearly cite each sentence that contains materials sourced from the lesson area and your academic resources. Your work will be checked for academic integrity by a plagiarism checking system.
