Introduction
Break this up into paragraphs.
Eating disorders refer to any unhealthy eating habits resulting from various psychological conditions.CITE- Who said this? This topic has continued to attract the interest of many types of research-Such as? because of the growing number of people engaging in one or several eating disorders-CITE. In most instances, people engage in unhealthy eating because of negative body image or stresses emanating from their environmentsCITE. In other cases, an eating disorder might be due to genetics.CITE Some of the major types of eating disorders are anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating, purging, and avoidant or restrictive food intakeCITE. With this in mind, the present study investigates the relationship between eating disorders and anxiety among students in high school-Name the high school since a specific one was used for the study. (Unal, Gokler, and Unsal, 2016). In the article,Semantics – meaning, the researchers didn’t find anything in an article. They conducted a study and reported their RESEARCH findings. the researchers found a positive relationship between eating disorders and anxiety whereby these disorders develop from anxiety among high school students with this relationship more prevalent amongst female adolescents than in malesRun-n sentence. Is this plagiarized at all?. Similarly, Gonidakis (2016) also found that patients who exhibited symptoms of eating disorders had 2 sentences excessive anxiety disorder rates indicating that anxiety preceded an eating disorder. Likewise, Levinson and Rodebaugh found that eating disorders and anxiety occur concurrently 2 sentences and expand on this. even though they disagreed on the idea that social anxiety caused eating disorders. Instead, the study-name the researchers identified some underlying vulnerabilities as the possible causes of both anxiety and eating disordersExplain. In another research study on the issue-delete, Alshawashereh et al., (2018) found that general life stressors, particularly anxiety and depression, led to an eating disorder among college students. However, the study-names? noted that the relationship between anxiety and eating disorder was not different for both sexes unlike in the case of Unal, Gokler, and Unsal (2016).Write this sentence so it flows more smoothly. What about Unal et al?
Hypothesis
The study tried to answer the question: What is the possible relationship between eating disorders and anxiety? That’s a question, not a hypothesis. What did researchers think they would find?
Design and Methods See someone in the Writing Center to help you rework this section. You have good information. You just need to work on your writing skills so you communicate what I know you are actually trying to say.
The study used the cross-sectional study method with the study involving-delete and rework sentence. high school students from a selected school -name the schoolin the South-East part of Turkey. Participants were given a questionnaire that consisted of three sections: etc –Instead of: The method involved the preparation of a questionnaire according to literature whereby it was made up of three parts. The first part consisted of socio-demographic information of the students. The second part was on an eating attitude test (EAT-40), while the third was about beck anxiety inventory (BAI) (Unal et al., 2016).
New paragraphThe cross-sectional research design – I thought this was a survey design? Or, do you mean it was a survey design given to multiple grades (cross-sectional)? is considered appropriate in this case because of its major strengths including the fact that it helps in proving and disapproving assumptions. This is convenient for this study since it aims to discover the truth about the assumption that anxiety causes eating disorders. What do you mean by “discover the truth?” The researchers should have a hypothesis in mind where they are investigating a relationship between 2 or more variables. The other strength of the design is that it saves on money and time why? and this is appropriate since the present study involves many participants.-delete Another advantage of a cross-sectional study is that it produces data that can benefit research of other typesExplain. New paragraph However, this method has some weaknesses, as well. new sentence-> with the major one being-wrong verb its inability to reveal the cause and effect or in this case, how anxiety exactly causes the development of eating disorders over some time. Using this method also poses the challenge and possibility of selection bias that can lead to flawed resultsExplain. Nevertheless, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages therefore implying that the design will help in finding reliable data for the study. - Unnecessary.
The participants were high school students from a school in Turkey called<-delete and use-> Sivrihisar High School in Turkey (2016). In this study,-delete the student participants were required to complete the questionnaires with a research team member overseeing the process. After filling in completingthe questionnaire, the students were also required to self-report the data that had been collected. For what purpose?
This study can generalize other populations such as one made up of college students instead of high school students. This is especially because college students are known to have major issues with eating and anxiety disorders.CITE Another population would be carrying out the study among young children especially in areas where there are prevalent cases such as obesity<-Rework this sentence.. This can help to identify any sources of anxiety among children that could lead them to bad eating habits or eating disorders. The other population would be high school students from a different country or race other than those in Turkish high schools to determine if the variables changed based on race or ethnicity..or culture. Other populations would be How do you know this? Do you mean to word this differently to communicate an adjustment in study design? using more than just one high school in the study to test the hypothesis.
Results
The results indicatedThe results did not indicate gender and ages. Rework sentence. that the study group consisted of 625 female students and 345 male students making up 64.4% and 35.6% for each gender respectively. The range of their ages was between 13 to 20 years. Were they broken into certain age groups? Just asking since you said this was also a cross-sectional design. There was a 13.0% prevalence of eating disorder. Students with a moderate income So, the students also had jobs? ...This is another variable you’ll need to discuss/present. were 553 (57.0%) while those with insufficient pocket define money were 239 (24.6%). The mean and standard deviation was gotten??? as 18.80+-9.88 for the students' EAT-40 total score. For BAI, the mean and standard deviation was 20.32+-12.32. Generally, the students’ scores of BAI and EAT-40 were found to show a positive weak correlation between... (Unal et al, 2016).
Researcher’s Conclusions
From the above results, the researchers were able to conclude that 13% of the high school students presented symptoms of an eating disorder. Aside from this, the presence of anxiety was noted to be accompanied by an eating disorderEvery time?. The researchers also noted that female students were the most susceptible to eating disorders and this was large as these factors are not unique to female populations; rather, being female was a factor, and so were these things. jBreak this up and explain. I’m not sure what you are trying to say.
The research concluded that there is a need to realize the seriousness of eating disorder as a health problem that is important when it comes to adolescents and it is necessary for its early diagnosis and treatmentrun on sentence. Another important conclusion is that in research involving high school students, there is a need to investigate and assess socio-economic factors since these have been noted to contribute much to the anxiety that consequently leads to eating disorders amongst adolescents. Did the researchers say this?
Discussion
The strength of this study is that it used research participants from the same school, which made the data-collection process quick and less costly. Besides, with this selected group, it was easier for the researchers to obtain approval from the institution because all students are within the school at the time of the study. ..speak professionally. What other factors about using students from the same school could be seen as strengths? See me if you need ideas.
However, it should be noted that the study also had some limitationsNew sentence, for instance using the cross-sectional research design. While this design helps to prove or disapprove the assumptions on eating disorders and anxiety, it fails to establish the cause and effect. Was it trying to establish a cause-and-effect? Or, was it just trying to establish a correlation? The other limitation was restricting the study to only one school and generalizing the information for the situation in other high schools in different districts and countries. Another weakness was assessing only students in high school instead of involving students at other levels too.-delete
To avoid these limitations, the researchers could have used additional research designs such as using experiments or surveys to help in determining the final diagnosis about the issue at hand. Instead of using only one high school, the study could have involved several other schools to compare the findings. Yes. Sounds like a small study. The researchers could also have involved students of different ages and levels and not just teenagers in high school. One study that can be done as follow up to this study would be investigating anxiety as a preceding factor for eating disorders among high school and college students. Nice idea.
